going, going, gone.The flowers are dying.going, going, gone.
I can smell their sickly scent,
crying out for life.
Take them out to the roadside in the middle of a thunderstorm and let the rain pour down,
let the cars run past.
And when the rain is nothing more than a lingering scent in the air,
I'll go back with you,
and see the damage we've done.
The torn petals scattered about,
trod upon, driven over,
no longer vibrant shades of the rainbow.
The crushed stems, fallen from grace,
smashed against the concrete.

after the showI am coming undone,after the show
red ribbons slowly unwinding in this vacuum of silence,
falling dramatically like dusty stage curtains.
Walking down the aisles, there is glitter everywhere, speaking of
past glory, now somewhat diminished by being trod upon into the carpet obscured by dirt and grime.
There is a faint scent of lingering
excitement, fading by the minute, mixed in with quick breaths and
pounding hearts.
The air tastes of whispered kisses,
shining eyes and hearts set ablaze with thoughts of
flying, soaring.


andi miss youandi was a girl. she thought the 'i' in the spelling of her name made this clear, but still, every year she would have to change her paperwork to an f under sex.andi miss you
she drank tea. it made her feel beautiful, knowing the leaves of some bleached plant were warming her belly when she shuddered. it was always too cold for andi.
tonight is wednesday, and andi writes poems on wednesday for open mic night on thursday. she likes working under pressure, under the moon, mooning over every unbeautiful thing you say. plays on words are something she envies but never knew.
